The college basketball season is right around the corner as we are exactly two months away from the Ohio State basketball team’s season opener against Texas in Las Vegas. Head coach Jake Diebler has put together a loaded non-conference schedule for the Buckeyes this season, and now he’s set up an intriguing exhibition game.

It has been announced that the Ohio State basketball team will take on the Cincinnati Bearcats in a charity exhibition game on October 18th. It will be a part of the CareSource Exhibition Game for Mental Health benefitting Jay’s Light.

This exhibition with the Bearcats will be a good test for the Buckeyes to get a look at the current roster against a quality opponent before the season starts. Cincinnati is expected to have a good team and be towards the top of the Big 12 conference. They’re seen as a top-25 team in college basketball ahead of the 2024-25 season as well.

If you remember back to the start of last season, the Ohio State basketball team went over to Dayton to square off with the Flyers in a charity exhibition game at UD Arena. The Buckeyes won that exhibition game 78-70. It was a great event for both teams, and I like to see that Jake Diebler is continuing to play in these charity exhibition games.

Jake Diebler has hit the ground running in his first year as head coach of the Ohio State basketball team. Scheduling a difficult non-conference schedule and a tough exhibition game will be great for this team in the long run. The exhibition against Cincinnati should be a great and energetic game to get ready for the regular season.
