It is time for these Ohio State football players to make an impact

The Ohio State football team may appear loaded heading into the 2024 season, but these Buckeyes are still needed to make an impact.

Jayden Ballard

If the Ohio State football team is absolutely loaded at receiver, why am I including Ballard on this list? Because he has the speed to get deep and stretch a defense and, quite frankly, he’s been in the program long enough and needs to make a bigger impact.

Ballard enters spring practice as a redshirt junior but has played sparingly on offense. Although he became the team’s punt returner after Emeka Egbuka was injured, he did not catch a pass in 2023 and has only nine receptions in his career.

The graduate of Massillon Washington hasn’t been able to put together all the things necessary to get him on the field for more than the 54 snaps he saw last year. If he can improve to the point where he gets even spot duty here and there, that speed will add one more dimension to the offense.
