The Ohio State football team will finally get to show off their new roster this weekend. It's Week 1 in college football and the Buckeyes will be taking on the Akron Zips. They haven't faced the Zips since the 2021 season when Kyle McCord started at quarterback as a true freshman while C.J. Stroud was injured.

This season, the Buckeyes will once again have a new starting quarterback. This time, it's Will Howard. The transfer will be replacing McCord and was named the starter a couple of weeks ago. He will be playing with the best set of receivers that he has ever played in his career.

This is the season-opener. How will Ohio State football fans be able to watch this game? This is the first year that the entirety of the Big Ten TV contracts have kicked in, so if you need a refresher that's understandable. There are a few ways you can watch the Ohio State Buckeyes this week.

How to watch the Ohio State football team take on Akron

The main way to watch the Buckeyes is to tune into CBS at 3:30 ET. That's when the game starts and it's the second year in a row that Ohio State starts their season on CBS. They did last year as well when they took on IU in McCord's first start of the year.

You can also watch this game on CBSSports.com and the CBS Sports App. Those are both free options to catch the game. If you have a subscription to Paramount+, you can also find the game streamed live there as well. The game can also be streamed live on Fubo TV. As you can see, there are plenty of options.
