How realistic it is for Ohio State football to end up with top recruiting class

The Ohio State football program has the top recruiting class in the country. What are the odds they keep it that way until Signing Day?

The Ohio State football program knows that recruiting is the most important aspect of a program's success. That's part of the reason why they have been so good over the years. They have been able to recruit at an elite level for a very long time. This year is no different.

Right now, the Buckeyes have the best recruiting class in the country for the 2025 class. They have four five-star recruits in the class, including Ohio's own Tavien St. Clair. The quarterback is currently the second-best recruit in the entire country and will fight for the starting job in 2025.

It's great that the Buckeyes have a great recruiting class right now, but Signing Day is months away. December has become the most prominent signing period over February's Signing Day now. Still, how realistic is it that the Ohio State football program will have the top class when that rolls around?

Behind the Buckeyes in the rankings is Alabama. They sit at second and are almost 20 points behind the Ohio State football program for the top spot. They do have three fewer commitments in their class than the Buckeyes do, so they have more wiggle room to improve.

Ohio State sits at 23 commits right now, but they could still land a couple of five-star recruits before Signing Day is over. We've talked multiple times about how the Buckeyes could still get both Jaime Ffrench and David Sanders Jr. That would be quite a cap to an already great class.

Unless there is a massive change, the Buckeyes should be able to land the best recruiting class in the country, which would also be the best recruiting class in school history. They should be ahead of Alabama with their class at the end of the cycle.
