Former Ohio State football player Justin Fields owns Jim Harbaugh
By Ryan Stano
When Justin Fields played for the Ohio State football team, he owned Jim Harbaugh. He was the quarterback of the 2019 team that took down the Wolverines. They even knocked him out of the game briefly before he came back on the very next play to score a touchdown.
Fields would go on to lead the Buckeyes to a 56-27 victory. Ohio State would go on to win the Big Ten and play in the College Football Playoff. Unforuntately, that's the last time the Ohio State Buckeyes have gotten a win over Michigan. Fields would have beaten them again in 2020, but Michigan canceled the game.
Harbaugh has now moved back to the NFL and likely will never coach in college again. He is leading the Los Angeles Chargers now and actually has former Buckeye J.K. Dobbins playing quite well. Even now in the NFL, Fields showed thata he still owns Harbaugh.
Ex-Ohio State football player Justin Fields beats Jim Harbaugh again
In the first matchup between the two in the NFL, Fields got the last laugh with ease. His Pittsburgh Steelers took down the Chargers 20-10. Fields has now started the season 3-0 after being brought in as the presumptive backup to Russell Wilson. Now, this job looks like it's firmly his.
Fields played well in this game and actually started out 10/10. He finished 25/32 for 245 yards and a touchdown. Fields also ran it six times for six yards and another score. His touchdown pass was a nice 55-yard strike to Calvin Austin that really put the game out of reach.
Some things don't change. Harbaugh simply can't beat Fields whether it's on a college field or an NFL one. Fields' numebrs haven't been overly impressive this year, but he's slowly getting better. This might be the team he can revive his NFL career with.
