After the Ohio State basketball team finished their season, they lost a few guys to the transfer portal. One of those guys was Roddy Gayle. He had started for the Buckeyes after a year on the bench. This past year, he averaged 13.5 points per game for the Buckeyes.

The biggest problem for Gayle was his inconsistent three-point shooting. He shot just 28% from three. That's why Ohio State decided to go into the portal and they brought Meechie Johnson back after he spent two years at South Carolina. He's an upgrade over Gayle.

It's a good thing they got him because Gayle decided to pull the ultimate betrayal. He has decided to transfer to Michigan. He has now become the ultimate Ohio State basketball villain. The fans are going to hate him when he comes back to Columbus now.

Gayle will be one of the best players on TTUN next season because of how bad the rest of the roster is. The team won just eight games a year ago. Still, Dusty May is a good coach and will rebuild that program. It just won't be in the next couple of years.

Fans are going to boo Gayle mercilessly when he comes to Columbus. They are going to let him have it in each of the next two years. He better realize what he's gotten himself into. Ohio State fans do not take it kindly when their players transfer to Michigan.

From a purely basketball standpoint, this isn't a huge deal for the Buckeyes. They know what Gayle does so defending him won't be too hard. They already upgraded that shooting guard spot by getting Meechie back. Michigan still won't be a threat to be in the top six of the Big Ten next season.

Gayle hasn't made the NCAA Tournament yet. I don't think he will next season either.
