The Ohio State football program finally got a recruiting commitment this week. It had been since the Spring Game that they had received one from a prospect in the 2025 recruiting class. Now that they got one, they should continue to build on that momentum in the month of June.

The month of June brings camp season. Ohio State is currently hosting one this week. Wednesday was the first day that we got to see a lot of the prospects out there going against each other. Ohio State coaches clearly liked what they saw because there were some offers given out.

In all, Ohio State gave out scholarship offers to seven recruits on Wednesday. One of them included a receiver from Fort Wayne, Indiana. Jerquaden Guilford, a recruit from the 2026 class, got an offer after some really impressive routes and catches. Here's a video of him courtesy of Dan Hope from Eleven Warriors.

While Guilford is just a three-star prospect right now, I'm sure that will change before he chooses a college. The Ohio State football program doesn't just give scholarships away to receivers willy-nilly. You have to earn that scholarship. He'll be a four or five-star prospect soon enough.

Six other recruits were impressive enough to get scholarship offers from the Buckeyes. Most of the recruits who are attending these camps are for the 2026 or 2027 class, so the 2025 class won't see many commitments right away. But Ohio State could get some for 2026 or 2027.

Expect more offers from the Buckeyes over the coming days while the camp continues to go on. That's what these camps are for; identifying talent. That talent could be the future of the program if the recruiting is done right. Ohio State typically does it right, especially at camps in their own backyard.
