Did EA Sports College Football 25 insult the Ohio State football program?
By Ryan Stano
College football fans all over the country have been waiting for EA Sports College Football 25. It's the first new college football video game in over a decade. I still play as the Ohio State football team in my old dynasty on PlayStation 3 with the NCAA 14 video game.
Now, the new game is close to being released. In anticipation of the game being released in July, EA Sports released the first trailer of actual gameplay today. It's the first time that we have been able to see what the game will look like when it is played. Take a look at the clip below.
I got pumped up just watching the trailer as a college football fan. That was my first reaction. My second reaction is how poorly the Ohio State football program is represented in that clip. There are multiple incidents of the Buckeyes having poor moments.
The clip shows Donovan Edwards putting multiple Ohio State players down after making a move. It also shows Illinois hoisting the Illibuck, a trophy they haven't won since 2007. That was the last time that Illinois beat the Buckeyes. Kyle McCord was also seen in a Syracuse jersey doing some good things.
Not once during the almost two-minute clip was there anything good happening for the Buckeyes. I find that very interesting. Was it intentional? Does EA Sports actually hate Ohio State? I'm not going to go that far. It's just a strange thing that happened by happenstance.
When will EA Sports College Football 25 be released?
The game comes out on July 19th. I have already pre-ordered my copy for the PlayStation 5. It's also available on XBOX One. All I know is that I will be playing this game as soon as I get it and will be playing with the Buckeyes extremely quickly.
I'll make sure to make my own highlights with Ohio State. I'm sure you will too.
