Heading into 2024, a lot of people have speculated that Devin Brown might transfer from the Ohio State football program. He addressed those rumors on Monday.

The Ohio State football program has a lot of talent in the quarterback room this season. They have five quarterbacks who would be FBS starters at various programs. Yet, only one can start for the Buckeyes this season. That is presumably Kansas State transfer Will Howard.

Who will start in 2025 and beyond is still a question. Only Howard will be gone after the season. Add in 2025 QB recruit Tavien St. Clair and five quarterbacks will be fighting for the job. One of those quarterbacks had a shot to grab the job for 2024 with a solid showing in the Cotton Bowl.

That, of course, is Devin Brown. Brown got hurt in the first half of the Cotton Bowl and never got to fully show what he was capable of. The Buckeyes then got Howard and Julian Sayin from the transfer portal. Most people think Brown and Lincoln Kienholz are candidates to transfer, including me.

Yet, Brown is not ready to quit. Despite knowing he has two five-star quarterbacks battling him for the job in 2025, Brown says he's staying put. This is what he had to say about the rumors of him transferring out of the program.

""I think people are cowards, I think people have this thought in their head that I'm gonna leave. That I'm a quitter, that's never been me. These people live in their mom's basement and don't know anything about me.""

Devin Brown

Brown said this while talking to the media on Monday. As you can see, Brown has some fight in him. I respect the hell out of that. He's supremely confident in his skills and thinks he's going to come out on top. He's not afraid of competition like Kyle McCord was.

I still don't think Brown will win the job in 2025. I think either Air Noland or Sayin will be the starter. It won't be because Brown quit fighting for the job though. If he does decide to transfer in 2025 after losing the job, I'll wish him luck wherever he goes. I still think he's a pretty good quarterback.

Next. Next story. Air Noland says he is excited about competition with Julian Sayin. dark

Brown just needs to stay healthy and keep fighting.
