Desmond Howard takes lazy shot at the Ohio State football team
By Ryan Stano
Throughout the years, no one has been a bigger provocateur of the Ohio State football program than Desmond Howard. The former Wolverine takes shots at the Buckeyes any chance that he gets. He almost never picks them to win any big game in the Big Ten and never picked them to make the four-team CFP.
Howard is about as big of a homer as you can be. While he always picks against Ohio State in big-game scenarios, he never picks against Michigan. Last week was the first time he'd done so in the history of the show. It even took his co-hosts of College Gameday by surprise.
Howard is back doing his thing of taking shots at the Ohio State Buckeyes. He needs to bring them down somehow because he can't talk about their play on the field because it's been impeccable. Instead, he took aim at Ohio State's non-conference schedule.

Speaking on Ohio State's schedule, Howard says that the Buckeyes "took the whole month off" when referring to the first part of their schedule. It's true that the Buckeyes had an easy start to the year, but it's rich coming from someone who supports Michigan because they do that more than any other school.
Last year, Michigan played East Carolina, UNLV, and Bowling Green in their non-conference slate. That's arguably worse than what the Buckeyes played this year. Ohio State also normally plays a marquee non-conference opponent every year. This is the first time they haven't in quite a while.
Howard's criticism doesn't matter. Ohio State looks like one of the best teams in college football, while Michigan can hardly throw a forward pass. He needs something to criticize about the Buckeyes because he knows that Michigan won't be in the College Football Playoff this year.
