Could the Ohio State football team play a night game at Penn State this year?

The Ohio State football team doesn't have too tough of a schedule this year. Their non-conference schedule is soft for once, which could help them. The teeth of their schedule comes in the Big Ten portion. That's where they are in danger of losing games.

By far the toughest game the Buckeyes will have to deal with is a trip to Eugene to take on the Ducks. It will be the hardest game because Oregon is one of the best teams in the country, not just the Big Ten. The only other tough road game Ohio State plays is at Penn State.

That game could be exponentially tougher if it ends up being a night game. Night games in whiteout conditions in Happy Valley are probably one of the toughest environments to play in in all of college football. The Ohio State football team would prefer to not have to deal with that.

We've seen some game times announced already throughout college football. The Ohio State football team had their game time announced against Michigan, which is of course at noon on the final Saturday in November. That is the only game that Ohio State knows what time and what network they'll be on so far.

Looking at some of the other Big Ten games that have been announced, there is a chance that NBC will gobble up the Ohio State/Penn State game for a Saturday night game. They have a full slate of college football games this year, as does CBS. FOX still gets most of the best games.

Of course, we won't know for a while. It won't be one of the games that is announced the week before though. We'll know sometime before the season starts what time this game will be played. I fully believe that. It's a marquee matchup in one of the two big conferences.

I think there's a chance the Ohio State football team has to play a night game in Happy Valley. They better get ready for it.
