Ohio State has had a great start to its basketball season with a 7-2 record, and a big contributor to that success is Ohio State player Amare Bynum.

Amare Bynum has been an emerging talent for Ohio State. Bynum, a 6'8, 220-pound freshman, has been nothing short of fantastic so far for the Buckeyes. Bynum is averaging 7.4 PPG, 3.9 REB, on 52% FG, while also averaging 20 minutes a night for the Buckeyes.

His development has been very noticeable in such a short amount of time, and his on-court impact has shown his versatility, athleticism, and competitive nature. He has had notable performances where he had 12 points and 10 rebounds against Western Michigan, and scoring 11 while having 5 rebounds against Northwestern

As his role continues to expand, Amare Bynum will continue to show flashes as a true freshman, and he is exactly the type of player the Buckeyes will want to look to build around as he continues to show his growth. As Bynum continues to gain experience, he will be a player to watch for the Buckeyes moving forward. He has the potential to be one of the best freshmen in the Big 10 this year.

Some of Bynum's strengths he has shown so far this season have been his strong finishing at the rim, his hustle to clean up rebounds, and his physicality, which has translated immediately on the floor. Bynum has brought a great bench presence, which the Buckeyes need right now due to them having glaring issues from a scoring output off the bench. Bynum looks to be a player who can fill that void.

As the Buckeyes move forward towards conference play in the Big 10, it's going to be important that they play tough, and they need to make sure their guys are ready to play in some challenging environments. If the seniors are prepared and the young guys, such as Bynum, can compete, Ohio State could look to make a run when March comes around.
