Ryan Day finally won a big game. The Ohio State football team was able to take down Penn State on Saturday 20-13 in a top-five showdown. It was a win that Day needed in the worst way considering how the fans were responding to him and his team after the poor performance following the bye week.

Day deserves credit for winning this game. If you want to further criticize Day, you can point to the fact that Ohio State has now won eight straight games against Penn State. The only coach who is worse at performing in big games than Day is James Franklin.

Penn State fans know that better than anyone. They are fed up with the fact that they can't beat the Buckeyes. Following another loss to the Ohio State Buckeyes, fans were letting Franklin have it. They booed him as he was walking off the field, and one fan even got into a shouting match with him.

Penn State fans are angry they keep losing to the Ohio State football team

Take a look at how angry the fans were with Franklin following the loss to the Buckeyes. They even started a "Fire Franklin" chat as he was headed for the locker room.

Ohio State clearly owns Penn State. The biggest issue for the Nittany Lions has been their failure to beat the Buckeyes as well as Michigan. It's nice to see the Buckeyes frustrating another program to the point that their fans want their coach gone because they can't beat them.

Day certainly has his flaws, but at least he can beat Penn State. They have been one of the better programs in the Big Ten over the past decade. This is a win that will boost the Buckeyes' College Football Playoff resume. It also keeps them alive for the Big Ten Championship.

Ohio State still needs to beat both Indiana and Michigan to make sure that goal stays alive. As for fans not liking Franklin for his inability to beat the Buckeyes, they need to get used to it.
