The Ohio State football program has several players who are expected to be high draft picks next month during the NFL Draft. The Buckeyes could have as many as five first-round draft picks. With that amount of talent on the roster, it was disappointing that they couldn't win back-to-back national championships.
The NFL Combine happened about a month ago, and several Ohio State Buckeyes participated. Sonny Syles had perhaps the best performance of any Buckeye in history. That certainly helped his draft stock, and he could end up being a top-7 pick now.
On Wednesday, the Buckeyes will be hosting their annual Pro Day. Scouts from almost every team in the NFL will be in Columbus. A lot of players can't improve much from the Combine. However, one player has a chance to push his stock in a positive direction with a solid performance.
Ohio State tight end Max Klare can push his draft stock high with a good Pro Day performance
Max Klare only played for the Buckeyes for one season. Before he decided to transfer to Ohio State for his final season, he was Purdue's best offensive player. He didn't get put up the same kind of offensive numbers as he did with the Boilermakers, but his impact was felt.
Klare had a solid performance at the Combine, but with Julian Sayin throwing him passes in the Woody will give him a chance to further impress scouts. His blocking was solid at Purdue, but he improved with that portion of his game in his one year in Columbus.
Right now, Klare is being mocked anywhere from a late third-round pick to an early fifth-round pick. With a great performance on Wednesday, Klare could push his stock all the way up into the early third round. While that might not seem like much, that's a lot of money for Kalre on a rookie contract.
Klare and the rest of the Ohio State Buckeyes will be performing in front of scouts at the Woody on Wednesday.
