The Ohio State football program has completed two spring practices so far. They have to integrate 51 new players into the program after a lot of turnover from last year's team. The Buckeyes are trying to figure out where the pieces fit on the roster with both the freshmen and the players from the Transfer Portal.
While the Ohio State Buckeyes have the top two running backs on the depth chart out for the spring, that has allowed some other guys to get some reps. That includes freshman Legend Bey. Bey was someone who had to fight his own family to get to Ohio State.
Now that he is here, Bey is doing everything he possibly can to make an impression. In fact, no other player seems to be garnering as much hype through the first two days of practice as Bey. He seems to be impressing coaches and the media with what he's been able to do.
Ohio State freshman Legend Bey is making a massively good impression
Bey played quarterback in high school but was recruited to Ohio State as a running back. That is where they are starting him out at, although he might take some reps at wide receiver. Ryan Day talked about Bey after the first day of practice.
"He's starting at running back. He played quarterback in high school, so he has a tremendous skill set. He is dynamic with the ball in his hands. We see him as somebody who can play running back and also play receiver."
Bey was seen doing work with both the running backs and the receivers on the second day of spring practice.
Number 2 is one of the most watched players at practice.

Legend Bey has big expectations for a freshmen, playing a hybrid role.

Bey was given #2 to wear, and single-digit jersey numbers are usually reserved for the best players on the team. If Bey is able to get that number as a true freshman, that means the coaching staff sees some real potential in him. Of course, he still has to earn time on the field.
With Bo Jackson and Isaiah West out, Bey is taking advantage of his early reps so far.
