One college football analyst thinks the Ohio State coaching staff doesn't trust QB

While speaking on the Rich Eisen Show, one college football analyst doesn't think the Ohio State football coaching staff trusts Will Howard.

The Ohio State football program has had to take a lot of lumps over the last few days. Losing to Michigan will do that to you. Losing to them four times in a row will make it even worse. That's what the Ohio State Buckeyes have had to deal with. A lot of scrutiny has been thrown their way.

Will Howard and his play was talked about a lot. Saturday was by far the worst game of his career as a Buckeye so far. He threw two awful interceptions to just one touchdown and had just 175 yards. A lot of that was due to the play-calling. They didn't try to throw to the outside nearly as much as they should have.

One college football analyst thinks that the play-calling was more indicative of what they think of Howard than anything else. Speaking on the Rich Eisen Show, Emmanual Acho seemed to think that the Ohio State coaching staff doesn't trust Howard and that's why the play-calling was what it was.

As you can see, those are pretty harsh words for Howard. I partially disagree. All season long, Chip Kelly has been fine allowing Howard to sling the ball around the field. They've taken plenty of shots deep and to the outside over the course of the season.

At the same time, the Buckeyes didn't look the same after he took that hit to the head. Howard didn't look quite right. He had some problems throwing the ball accurately after that play. Perhaps the coaches knew that he wasn't quite right and they were trying to protect him.

Whatever the case may be, they cannot have a repeat performance in the first round of the CFP, no matter who they play. If there is, the Ohio State Buckeyes will lose and their season will be over.
