For the first time since joining the Big Ten, Oregon will play the Ohio State Buckeyes in Columbus. Ohio State lost to the Ducks the last time the Ducks came to Columbus in 2021, in what was a non-conference clash. Ohio State also lost in 2024 in their first matchup as Big Ten foes.

However, the Buckeyes got revenge when it mattered. They won in a rematch in the Rose Bowl, playing perhaps a perfect first half of football. The Buckeyes then went on to win the national title. We now know when the Buckeyes will kick off against Oregon, and it's not a surprise.

Ohio State will take on Oregon on CBS

In two weeks, the Buckeyes will take on the Ducks at 3:30 pm ET. The game will be broadcast on CBS. This has been rumored for months, and the rumors were confirmed to be true. Oregon was the preseason number-two team in the country, and they have fallen off a cliff.

The Ducks are no longer in the top 25, and they have just decided to fire their offensive coordinator. Ohio State could not be catching them at a better time. With having to play a backup quarterback in that game, the Ducks are no longer the tough team everyone thought they were.

Luke Fahey will have to prove that he can win games by beating USC this week first. He will have to beat the Trojans before the Bucks turn their attention to the Ducks. USC is coming off a loss against Wisconsin, and Ohio State is off the bye. Vibes are much better around the team.

Against Oregon, Ohio State can have a week of game tape to learn from when it comes to Fahey, and that should help them in this game. Ohio State still doesn't know how the backup quarterback is going to react as a starter. Fahey looked scared in his time against the Hoosiers.

Ohio State is only focused on USC, not Oregon

While it's good for fans to officially know when the game against Oregon will start, the players won't be focused on them at all until this time next week. The Trojans are the only thing on their mind. Ohio State has been focused on them since the moment the game against IU ended.

Defense is going to have to be a big focus for Ohio State in order to win games moving forward. Ohio State's defense has slowly been getting better as the season has gone on. Being able to win lower-scoring games might need to happen for Ohio State to not just make the College Football Playoff, but win a national title as well.

Oregon's season is essentially over after already dropping three games. Their Super Bowl will be against Ohio State in Columbus. That's something that Ryan Day needs to be prepared for. He's more concerned with making sure that the quarterback position won't derail what is otherwise a national title-contending team.

Ohio State will likely wear their all-scarlet uniforms for this game, as well.
