The only thing Day can do now is put the game behind him and learn from the mistakes. The next game on the docket is Kent State, which will be traveling to the Shoe this weekend. They will likely see some angry Ohio State Buckeyes coming at them throughout the entirety of this game.

This is a game that can be consumed in many different ways. It's also a game that Kent State is likely going to get thrashed in. The oddsmakers have the Buckeyes as huge favorites. According to DraftKings, the Scarlet and Gray are favored by 52.5 points, with the total sitting at 59.5.
Ohio State's offense struggled to sustain the success it had in the first half of the Texas game when it mattered the most. However, the Golden Flashes don't have nearly the same personnel that the Longhorns do. It could get ugly in this game fairly quickly.
The Buckeyes need an opponent like this after a crushing loss as they suffered against Texas. Getting the offense right and building some confidence with receivers not named Jeremiah Smith is something that they have to do. That will be the number-one priority this weekend.
Ohio State football vs. Kent State early prediction
This is a game that likely won't be close at any point. This is the second MAC school that Ohio State has played in three weeks. Ball State didn't score a touchdown, and I don't expect much better from the Golden Flashes. That's especially true against an angry Ohio State team.
I fully expect Arthur Smith to prioritize developing a second receiver alongside Jeremiah Smith. The starters might stay out there longer than usual because of how last week ended. Day will certainly want to see his team keep its foot on the gas for most of the game.
With that being the case, Day might be out for blood. There is a chance that the Buckeyes hang 70 on the Golden Flashes. I don't think they will quite score that many, but I fully expect a more potent effort than in Austin. Give me the Buckeyes 59-0 in this game.
Of course, a big win against Kent State doesn't mean anything. All it means is the Big Ten portion of the schedule is right around the corner.
