The Ohio State football team decided that it needed some help on the offensive line following the end of the season. With the number of starters that they lost, it made sense for them to go into the transfer portal to bring a couple of guys in, which they did.
It doesn't look like the Buckeyes are done bringing in guys, though. They have reached out to multiple other guys in the Spring transfer portal as they search for more depth on the offensive line. One of the guys they have reached out to is at a familiar Big Ten school.
The Ohio State Buckeyes have already taken a transfer player from Purdue this offseason. They were able to land tight end Max Klare right after the season ended. Now, the Buckeyes will be hosting offensive lineman Jaden Ball for a visit this week.

Ball has officially entered the transfer portal and has already been reached out to by multiple schools. He will be taking a visit to both Ohio State and Minnesota this week, as he clearly ins interested in staying in the Big Ten.
Purdue OL Jaden Ball is officially in the transfer portal per @DJRSwework. He has been offered by Ohio State, Minnesota, and Syracuse. He will officially visit Minnesota and Ohio State this week. https://t.co/kyUMvPAhUf @PeteNakos_

Ball is 6'6 and is originally from the state of Ohio, so the Buckeyes would love to bring him back home. He is a sophomore who was originally a three-star recruit. With him being from Carroll, Ohio, the Buckeyes seem like the favorite to land him.
Ball likely wouldn't fight for a starting spot right away, but he would certainly be an important backup. He's also certainly good enough to mix it up in the future. It's clear Ohio State isn't totally pleased with what they have up front right now, so adding him would be nice.
Ohio State hasn't been able to land any transfers from the Spring portal yet, but that should happen soon. If the Buckeyes were able to add Ball, he would be the second transfer from Purdue that Ohio State would grab this offseason.
Ultimately, it will come down to how well this visit goes in Columbus.
