The Ohio State football program has done a lot of hiring this offseason. Of course, they needed to find a new offensive coordinator. They went to the NFL in order to grab their next one. Arthur Smith was the one that Ryan Day decided to bring in, giving them two former NFL head coaches as coordinators.
Day has also hired a few analysts to help on both sides of the ball, now that there is no limit on the number of coaches that a staff can have. The Buckeyes have done a really good job of adding the right kind of analysts to help out the position coaches.
On Wednesday, the Ohio State Buckeyes held their Pro Day. It was a great opportunity for draft prospects to show executives up close what they can do. Not only that, but the Buckeyes also decided to hire another analyst on the defensive side of the ball.
New Ohio State defensive analyst brings a wealth of experience from the NFL
Ohio State has hired Jason Brooks as a defensive analyst for the 2026 season. Brooks has a wealth of experience in the NFL, having coached with the Steelers, Ravens, and Dolphins. It's another clear example of Day wanting to bring in talent from the next level.
Brooks is someone who can really help Ohio State heading into next year. He is someone who can help bring in a lot of experience from the next level, which can help develop the defensive players into monsters. With so much talent on that side of the ball gone, they need as many analysts as they can get to help Patricia.
While Brooks might not be on the sidelines on game day, his work with the players during the week leading up to Saturday's will be instrumental in the success of the team this year. Day wouldn't have brought him to Columbus if he didn't think he couldn't help.
