Ohio State recruit rebuffs Michigan's recruiting efforts with social media post

One of Ohio State's top recruits has rebuffed Michigan's attempts to sway him with a single social media post.

The Ohio State football program has turned its focus after winning the national championship to recruiting the 2026 class. The Buckeyes have had one particular recruit in that class committed to them for quite a while. That recruit is wide receiver Chris Henry Jr.

Henry Jr. was the first commit of the 2026 class. He committed to the Ohio State Buckeyes back in July of 2023. At that time, he was the number-one overall recruit in the country. Now, he is down to the third overall recruit in the country, but he is still listed as the top receiver.

Henry Jr. picked Ohio State because of the track record of Ohio State receivers getting into the NFL. Brian Hartline develops these guys better than anyone else. Michigan decided to take a run at him with their deep NIL pockets. Henry Jr. shut them down rather quickly.

Ohio State football recruit Chris Henry Jr. shuts down Michigan

Michigan paid a boatload of money for Bryce Underwood in the 2025 class. There was speculation that they could start throwing money at Henry Jr. to flip him from Ohio State. He shut that down very quickly with a single social media post.

With that post, Henry Jr. shuts down any notion of TTUN taking him away from Ohio State. That doesn't mean that another team doesn't have a shot to pry him away, but it won't be Michigan. If I had to guess, I would say that he is pretty locked in with the Buckeyes.

Coming off a national championship, it's pretty hard to pull away a Buckeye recruit right now. They have all of the momentum in the world right now. Michigan can try to throw all of the money in the world at him, but he won't budge. He's going to be a Buckeye.

Michigan has bigger things to worry about right now. They're staring down the barrel of a huge punishment thanks to the Connor Stalions saga. Meanwhile, the Buckeyes are reloading as they look to defend their national title in 2025.

Expect the Buckeyes to start adding more members to the 2026 class in the next couple of months.
