The Ohio State football program has done a good job of producing NFL talent at the quarterback position under Ryan Day. Day has helped develop Justin Fields, C.J. Stroud, and Will Howard. He won a national championship with Howard leading the offense back in 2024.

Day usually makes sure he has at least one quarterback in each recruiting class. In the 2027 recruiting class, he has Brady Edmunds. Edmunds is a four-star recruit from Huntington Beach, California. He has been committed to the Ohio State Buckeyes since December 2024.

Edmunds has proven to be one of the best quarterback recruits in the country. In fact, he was invited to participate in the Elite 11 competition, which showcases the best quarterbacks in the country every year. Now, Edmunds is a finalist in that competition.

Edmunds has a chance to prove his recruiting ranking wrong. Right now, he's not even a five-star recruit. In fact, he is considered a low four-star recruit. With a strong performance in the Elite 11, he could change that narrative very quickly. That's especially true if he wins the MVP.

Other Buckeyes to compete in the Elite 11 are Tavien St. Clair, Stroud, and Julian Sayin, just to name a few. Day does a great job of recruiting and developing quarterbacks. He is hoping that Edmunds can be a really good starter for him at some point down the line. Of course, Edmunds will have to work for it.

If Sayin has a good season in 2026, he will be a first-round pick in the 2027 NFL Draft. After that, Tavien St. Clair is next in line to start. After a solid performance in the Spring Game, he seems like he's got the goods. Edmunds will have to fight him and other recruits for that starting spot.
