Ohio State’s quarterback room already has one five-star player (Julian Sayin) and will add another when Tavien St. Clair, the nation’s number two quarterback, signs with the Buckeyes next week. Now, they’ve gotten a prediction from one of college football’s top recruiting experts to land another.
Longtime Ohio recruiting guru Bill Kurelic of Bucknuts has put in a Crystal Ball prediction for the Buckeyes to land Brady Edmunds of Huntington Beach, California. Now, here’s the catch with Edmunds: he’s not part of the 2025 recruiting cycle or even 2026. Edmunds is part of the 2027 recruiting class and has only just finished his sophomore season of high school football.
At 6’5”, Edmunds has the prototypical size for a quarterback. Considering how young he is, I don’t doubt that by the time he steps onto a college practice field, he will have added considerably to his 200-pound frame. The scouting report on him says his accuracy and touch on throws are impressive, and his athleticism is underrated. He is the number two quarterback in the 2027 recruiting class and is ranked as the 14th overall player.
Ohio State first offered Edmunds when he attended their camp in early June. He was back in Columbus for a visit in October for the Iowa game and came away impressed. He’ll be in attendance on Saturday for the Michigan game as well. Based on what he’s been told, Kurelic feels comfortable enough to give a prediction for Edmunds to commit to the Buckeyes. There is a good possibility Edmunds could make his announcement fairly soon.
If he does commit to becoming a Buckeye, it sets up that quarterback room nicely for the future. Most likely, 2027 will be the final year of eligibility for Sayin and St. Clair will be just a sophomore or junior depending on if he redshirts. Let’s not forget talented Air Noland who will also be in his junior season in 2027.
A commitment from Edmunds will set up the Buckeyes to have a five-star quarterback on the roster for the next six to seven seasons.
