Ohio State OC hilariously tries to hide his pleasure with the offense from Ryan Day

The Ohio State football program has started its season 3-0 after winning all of the non-conference games on the schedule. They are the top-ranked team in the country and look like a safe bet to make the College Football Playoff early in the season, despite having two new coordinators.

Brian Hartline is calling plays for the first time in his coaching career, and he has helped the Buckeyes look very efficient. Unfortunately, the Ohio State Buckeyes didn't look good in the red zone against Ohio last weekend. That was about the worst thing the offense has done so far this season.

Despite scoring 70 points on Grambling State, Ryan Day doesn't seem happy with the offense. When Hartline was asked about the offense and how things have been going since he took over play-calling duties, he tried to hide how happy he was with the offense from his boss.

Day has talked about how he's never fully happy with anything that's going on with the program. Hartline has a different feeling about how things are going when he was asked about it on Tuesday.

"I've been, uh — I'm trying to not be happy, hold on a second, because I know (Ryan Day) is not happy. I am, I guess, OK with the way it's been so far. I always want to be better. I'm never gonna be satisfied. But I think that there's been a lot of growth, and I'm learning a lot along the way, and Coach is keeping me posted."

Hartline has to be happy with the fact that the Buckeyes looked like they could do whatever they wanted against the Tigers of Grambling State. Still, they do have to get their red zone offense better than what it was against the Bobcats. Julian Sayin didn't look great after throwing two picks.

With Ohio State having a bye week this week, it will give them a chance to work on the offense and be more consistent. The more reps that Sayin gets will help him be even better under center, which will make the offense perform better. Hartline has to be happy with his growth so far.

Hartline will get better as a play-caller as the year goes on, as well. He did what he needed to do to get wins against Texas, Grambling State, and Ohio. That's the biggest thing.
