The Ohio State football team has just one loss on the season, falling in the Big Ten Championship Game. That loss to Indiana served as a wake-up call to the Buckeyes. It wasn't a loss that was going to keep them out of the College Football Playoff, but it was certainly a game Ohio State wanted to win.
Even with the loss, the Ohio State Buckeyes were able to earn a first-round bye. They are the second seed and will be taking on the Miami Hurricanes in the Cotton Bowl. The Hurricanes earned that right by beating the Aggies of Texas A&M 10-3 in College Station.
Ryan Day has been preparing his team for the last few weeks for this game. He knows that there are mistakes that his team made against IU that can't be repeated. He said something to the media that should scare the rest of the field in the College Football Playoff.
Ryan Day sends definitive warning to Ohio State football opponents
While speaking to the media on Monday, Day made sure to send a strong message to the future opponents of the Buckeyes, saying his team is an angry one.
"Everyone is pissed off. Everybody wants to get it right and wants to win. Nobody likes to lose. Nobody. It's a game that we felt like we shouldn't have lost."
If everyone on the team is angry, that's bad news for Miami. Everyone saw what happened to Tennessee last season when the Buckeyes came into the CFP angry. It did not go well for the Vols, as they got crushed from the moment the game kicked off.
This Miami team is not as good as that Tennessee team was a year ago. This game could be headed for a blowout if Ohio State is able to execute at a high level. Only one team has proven to be able to play at their level, and Miami doesn't look to be that caliber of team.
