The Ohio State basketball program finally got the big win it needed on Sunday. Taking down Purdue at home gave the Buckeyes the quality win that they desperately needed. Coming into that matchup, they only had one Quad 1 win, and that was a victory over Wisconsin.

That win over the Badgers has been fluctuating between being a Quad 1 and a Quad 2 win. The win over Purdue will have no such issue. The Boilermakers were a top-10 team coming into this game. Now, this win could end up punching Ohio State's ticket into the NCAA Tournament.

John Mobley Jr. was one of the big reasons that Ohio State was able to win this game. His offense was key for a team that has struggled with offense against really good teams. Following the game, he sent a strong message to the NCAA Selection Committee.

After the game, Robbie Hummel interviewed Mobley Jr. He asked Mobley Jr. if he thought that they deserved to play in March Madness. Mobley Jr. made sure his feelings were known.

"Got to. And we gonna make a run too. Promise that."

Ohio State doesn't have the strongest resume. Coming into that matchup, they were on the outside looking in acording to most bracketologists. Now, they are firmly in the field, for now. The Buckeyes still have two more regular-season games to play, and they need to win both.

Beating both Penn State and Indiana to finish off the season would be a great way for them to finish the season. It would help them add to their win total. Even more important, it would keep them from adding a bad loss to the resume late in the season.

If Ohio State takes care of two games, they should finally be dancing for the first time in four years.
