As this season chugs along, the Ohio State football program is starting to get serious about the 2026 recruiting class. Right now, they have 22 recruits in the class, and it's ranked ninth in the country. That's something they have been looking to improve on, especially late in the year.
Over the last few days, the Ohio State Buckeyes have been flipping recruits to help increase that ranking. They have been able to flip an offensive player and a defensive player, taking one of those players from a rival Big Ten school. They are predicted to do the same thing again soon.
The Buckeyes are far from done flipping recruits as Signing Day inches closer. In fact, the Buckeyes are predicted to flip another recruit from a rival Big Ten school, and it's actually a player from the program that Ohio State will be taking on this weekend.

According to Rivals, the Buckeyes are now predicted to flip four-star recruit Amari Latimer. Latimer is a running back from Tyrone, Georgia, who has been committed to Wisconsin since late June. Yet, it looks like the Buckeyes are circling as things start to go poorly for the Badgers.
There's a good chance that Luke Fickell is looking for a new job at the end of the season. There's even a chance that comes as soon as next week, after Ohio State leaves Madison. Ohio State is looking to be the beneficiary and add another running back to the 2026 class.
Right now, the Buckeyes have just one running back committed to the class. That is in-state running back Favour Akih, who is a three-star recruit. Adding Latimer would make him the best back in this class for Ohio State, something that they need.
This could end up being done in the next few weeks.
