Are you paying close attention? While one recruiting prospect seems to have tipped his hand, another could be destined for Ohio State. It is all about four-star Andrew Beard's four finalists and how they relate to five-star David Gabriel Georges potentially coming to Columbus. With Beard looking at Clemson, Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee, this means Georges could be Buckeye-bound.
Beard has narrowed his list down to these four programs with official visits attached to all of them.

According to the 247Sports Composite, Beard is the No. 5 running back in the nation, the No. 13 player from Georgia, and the No. 85 overall prospect. While the Bogart native has many great options, the latest intel puts the ball in Ryan Day's court to land Georges out of Chattanooga. He is the No. 1 player from Tennessee, the No. 2 running back in his class, and the No. 13 overall prospect for 2027.
Georges is looking predominantly at Ohio State or Tennessee for his five-star commitment in 2027.
Ryan Day is poised to land 2027 5-star RB out from Tennessee's clutches
To try and connect the dots here, this is what is at stake. While Beard may want to play just down the road at Georgia, the Bulldogs did land the No. 1 running back in the country earlier this month in one Kemon Spell. Though it is possible that they could play alongside each other, Beard may be destined to head elsewhere. It looks like Tennessee will be rolling out the red carpet for him in this 2027 cycle.
So if Tennessee puts more of a focus on trying to land Beard out of Georgia, then that certainly paves the way for Ryan Day to pry Georges out of Tennessee and bring him to Ohio State. Again, this is one of the biggest issues that works against Tennessee. Because it shares so many borders with other states, it is hard for the Vols to protect their turf. Columbus is not that far away from Chattanooga...
Overall, the more focus Josh Heupel and his staff put on Beard in his recruitment, the less of a chance that they will end up with Georges. Assuming Spell holds steady with his commitment to Georgia, Ohio State can conceivably put all its chips into the Georges basket. The other thing that needs to be mentioned is Georges is a native of Quebec, which is much closer to Ohio anyway...
Ultimately, Tennessee has found itself in a bit of a pickle when it comes to recruiting a high-end running back. It missed out on Spell, not to say the Vols were really in it for him. They have a blue-chipper in-state in Georges, but also have interest in Beard out of an adjacent state. Now is the time for Ohio State to strike. If the Buckeyes can catch the Volunteers napping they can land Georges.
With how well the Buckeyes have recruited on offense under Day's watch, this should be no stretch.
