Could there be more electric recruiting news on the way for the Ohio State football team? Things sure are looking to be headed in that direction when it comes to 4-star running back Favour Akih, who has been high on the Buckeyes for quite some time.

Akih has a boatload of programs chasing his commitment, but this feels like a three-team race between Ohio State, USC and Miami. Right now, though, Ryan Day and his staff are miles ahead in said race. In some more exciting news for Buckeyes fans, yet another Crystal Ball pick on 247Sports has come in for Ohio State to land this kid:

Ohio State is expected to land 4-star running back Favour Akih

Throughout his recruitment, Akin has picked up offers from Ohio State, Miami, USC, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan State, Purdue, Kentucky and many others. However, the Buckeyes, Canes and Trojans indeed are considered the top contenders, though Ohio State is clearly separating itself.

According to the 247Sports Composite, the 6-0, 190-pound in-state speedster is ranked four stars, the No. 14 RB in the country and the No. 166 player nationally for the 2026 class. Last season, he rushed for more than 1,600 yards, while adding 19 touchdowns. He also missed two games due to injury, making those stats pop even more.

There's no set timeframe for when Akih will be making his decision, but he's all set to take an official visit to Columbus on June 6. He also has an OV set with USC for the week after, but could Day end up getting him to shut down his process while he's in town?

That's totally up in the air, but Ohio State is going to have the first opportunity to really impress him while he's on campus. Right now, it's feeling like it'd be a bit of a surprise if Akih doesn't pick the Buckeyes, but as we all know, anything can happen with recruiting and things can change at the drop of a hat. With that said, Ohio State looks to be in a great spot.
