The Ohio State football program will take on Texas in the first game of the season. It's the second straight game that Texas will be playing against the Buckeyes after they lost to them in the Cotton Bowl. This year, Texas feels it can beat them based on how many players they have returning.

This matchup was already highly anticipated after what happened in the College Football Playoff. Things have changed in a good way for that matchup, as it has now become a historic matchup. After the Coaches Poll was released, this matchup became even more of a must-see matchup.

For the first time in college football history, there will be a matchup between the top two teams in the polls in Week 1. Texas was ranked first by the coaches, while the Buckeyes were given the second spot in the rankings. These two teams have a lot on the line.

Unfortunately for Texas, the Longhorns will be without their starting right tackle after he suffered a season-ending injury. That means that Texas is going to have a harder time blocking the Buckeyes up front, even if Ohio State doesn't have anyone returning from the defensive line.

Ohio State is hoping to be able to take down Texas to start out the season right. While they don't have to win that game to make the College Football Playoff, winning that game does give them some breathing room if they were to lose another game down the line.

Ohio State has two new coordinators they will be breaking in. It will be interesting to see how both of the new guys react to calling plays. Hartline has never done it on offense, while Patricia has done it in the NFL. That could be a deciding factor.
