Coming into the season, Ohio State's schedule was viewed as being brutal. Taking on Texas, Indiana, USC, Oregon, Iowa, and TTUN was supposed to be a gauntlet. All of those teams were ranked in the preseason top 25. Instead, the schedule has turned out to be much easier.

Yet, the Ohio State Buckeyes have not handled it well. At this point in the season, they have already suffered two losses, falling to Texas and USC. Last week was a mess defensively, and now Ohio State's backs are up against the wall. Now, they welcome Oregon to town.

How to watch the Ohio State football team take on Oregon

The easiest way to watch the Buckeyes take on the Ducks is to tune into CBS at 3:30 pm ET. This is the second time that Ohio State is featured on that network, as the Iowa game was also on CBS. The game can also be viewed on the CBS Sports app, CBSsports.com, and streamed live on Fubo TV.

Before the season began, this was a matchup billed as the top two teams in the country going against each other. Now, both teams are much worse off. Oregon fired its offensive coordinator and will be starting a backup quarterback, just like Ohio State. The Ducks have a 5-3 record, while Ohio State comes in at 6-2.

Ohio State vs. Oregon odds

According to DraftKings, the Buckeyes are currently seven-point favorites. The over/under is set at 46.5. Last week against the Trojans, Ohio State only managed 18 points. That was after Luke Fahey had two weeks to prepare for a bad USC defense. It was a disappointing effort offensively.

However, it wasn't really Fahey's fault. His offensive line failed him, the running game didn't get many explosives, and he had several guys drop his passes. The play-calling didn't do him many favors, either. Ryan Day has to have a much better game plan in this game if the Buckeyes are going to win.

Early prediction for Ohio State vs. Oregon

Oregon already has too many losses to make the College Football Playoff unless some chaos happens. However, this has been a season of chaos, much like the 2007 season. Beating Ohio State on the road would certainly give them an opportunity for a good resume boost.

However, they have struggled to find an offensive rhythm without Dante Moore. They also have multiple receivers arrested and out for the game, so the weapons will be lacking as well. Still, Ohio State's defense played its worst game of the year last week.

It's really hard to determine if Ohio State's issues will get fixed at this point. We weren't supposed to have to worry about the defense anymore. Special teams have been a disaster all year. The penalties might be the most disheartening part of what we saw on Saturday night.

Right now, I see a very close game between two middling teams. Ohio State has lost its juice, but at least this game is at home. Give me the Buckeyes 24-23.
