The Ohio State football team has started putting some real effort into the recruiting trail for the 2027 class. The Buckeyes have already garnered nine commits for the class. They are working on some more, and most of them will come in later this summer.
After a strong finish to the Transfer Portal recruiting, Ryan Day is hoping to take that momentum onto the recruiting trail. He does have a commitment from the top overall recruit in the class. Still, the Buckeyes lost 30+ players to the portal this past offseason. They have to recoup that talent.
Now that Ohio State's coaching staff is settled, the Ohio State Buckeyes can really start to recruit hard. Now, they have locked in an official visit with a solid offensive line recruit who is starting to rise up the recruiting ranks rather quickly.
The Ohio State football program sets official visit date with four-star OL prospect
Four-star offensive line recruit Kelsey Adams has set an official visit with five programs. Georgia, which is the program he is currently committed to, is the first visit he will make at the end of May. He will visit the Buckeyes towards the end of June, as he has a visit locked in for June 20-22.
Adams has been committed to the Bulldogs since September. He is rated as the 11th-best tackle recruit in the country. Flipping him won't be an easy task, but it's something that is more manageable now that Arthur Smith is locked in as the offensive coordinator.
Right now, Ohio State has three offensive line recruits for 2027 already. That's a third of the class. While Bowen would love to add some depth up front, the class needs to add some players from other positions before bringing in other offensive linemen.
Having the last visit in that string of five visits gives the Buckeyes a chance to flip Adams away from Georgia. He also has visits with LSU, Miami, and North Carolina before heading to Columbus.
