The Ohio State football program is trying hard to improve the 2026 recruiting class a few months before Signing Day. They have just the ninth-best class in the country right now, and that's after winning the national championship last season. They should be better than that.

Ryan Day and his staff are working hard during this bye week to get on the recruiting trail and land some highly-regarded recruits. They still believe they can sign a top-five class when everything is said and done. Now, they have offered one of the fastest risers in the 2026 class.

Jared Doughty, a three-star offensive line recruit, was recently offered by the Ohio State Buckeyes. He has been racking up offers in the last few weeks from some of the best programs in the country after having an impressive start to his high school season.

Doughty stands at 6'6 and 300 pounds out of Atlanta. Tyler Bowen has already landed commitments from several recruits on the offensive line for this class. He is doing his best to fix the depth problem that the Buckeyes had accumulated in the last couple of seasons.

The Buckeyes are coming in late for Doughty, so it might be hard for them to swoop in and land him. Still, they are going to give it their best shot. Day and the Buckeyes have a lot to sell Doughty on, so maybe it will work. They would love to land another really good offensive lineman.

Doughty isn't the best offensive lineman in this class, but he is oozing with potential. That's part of the reason why Bowen offered him. He can see the vision of what he looks like with the right kind of coaching. Bowen wants to be the guy to give him that coaching at the next level.
