One Ohio State football recruiting target will no longer make his commitment decision on Friday. On social media, Jerquaden Guilford announced that he will no longer be committing on Friday. He also announced that no new commitment date has been decided yet.

Guilford is a three-star recruit in the 2006 recruiting class. from Fort Wayne, Indiana. He is a receiver that stands at 6'2 and 190 pounds. On his final school list, he has the Buckeyes, Michigan, Ole Miss, and Penn State. It looked like it was a 50-50 choice between Ohio State and Ole Miss heading into today.

Now, Guilford will wait and make a decision at a later date. He's certainly not going to be a recruit that the Ohio State Buckeyes give a lot of NIL money to. He's not a highly-rated recruit. Quite frankly, it's a bit surprising that Ohio State offered him and is pursuing him so hard.

Ohio State recruiting target Jerquaden Guilford postpones his commitment

Guilford's high school stats at Northrop aren't super impressive like a lot of other high school prospects. Northrop isn't the biggest high school in the state of Indiana either, so he's not playing the best competition week in and week out. Still, Brian Hartline likes what he sees.

Hartline has more than earned the benefit of the doubt when it comes to talent evaluation at the wide receiver position. His track record is second to none when it comes to evaluating and developing talent at that spot. If he thinks Guilford can develop into something, then he deserves that trust.

The Buckeyes will have to wait and see what Guilford decides to do in terms of his commitment. He will have to think about what he is going to do. He was an Ohio State lean heading into this morning, so postponing his commitment might not be the best sign.
