The Ohio State football program has been known for developing quarterbacks under Ryan Day. Since Day has been with the Buckeyes, he has developed multiple first-round picks at that position. While Will Howard might not be a first-round pick, he did win a national championship.

Because of his track record of developing quarterbacks, the Buckeyes have been able to land some good quarterback recruits over the years. They already have a quarterback commitment for the 2027 class as well. That quarterback is five-star quarterback Brady Edmunds.

Edmunds committed to the Ohio State Buckeyes back in December. While the Buckeyes don't have a quarterback commitment for the 2026 class, Edmunds is the real deal in 2027. He has been participating in a camp and has been putting on a show for everyone.

Edmunds has looked good early at Rivals camp, showing off his arm strength and sound mechanics.

Ohio State is hoping to keep Edmunds when the 2027 class does roll around. With NIL such a big factor when it comes to recruiting now, it's really hard to keep a recruit committed for two years. Edmunds seems to be worth the effort from the Buckeyes, though.

He stands at 6'5 and 215 pounds, so he certainly has the size that people love. He has a strong arm to go along with that prototypical size, and he's still just a junior. Edmunds should only get better in each of the next two seasons of high school football.

Ohio State has to figure out who their starting quarterback is going to be this season. If it ends up being Julian Sayin, Edmunds will have a chance to win the starting job when he is a sophomore. If it's Tavien St. Clair, he'll have to wait a bit longer.
