The Ohio State football team was extremely motivated to take down Tennessee. After losing to Michigan, there was some pessimism among the fanbase that they were going to be able to get it done. There was also a lot of motivation from the opposing fanbase as well.
Tennessee fans were calling the Shoe "Neyland North" because they claimed they were going to take over the stadium. While there were a decent number of Volunteer fans at the game, the team was not ready for the environment. The Ohio State Buckeyes blasted Tennessee 42-17 and Will Howard has his best game as a Buckeye.
After the game, the Buckeyes were extremely happy. They were walking around with roses because they will be going to the Rose Bowl to get a rematch with Oregon. Ohio State also decided to troll Tennessee to the max once the game ended.

A lot of Ohio State football fans wanted to destroy the Vols because their fans were so obnoxious. They seemed to think they could waltz right in and get a win without any issue. Instead, the Vols got crushed from the very start of the game, and Ohio State played its best game.
The Buckeyes were able to put everything together. Now, they get a much-anticipated rematch with the Oregon Ducks. They lost the first game in October in Eugene by just a single point. They feel much better about their chances at a neutral site.
This was an extremely satisfying win after how the Buckeyes finished the regular season. They were able to put all the negativity behind them and get this victory. Ryan Day knows the job isn't done. He needs to win three more wins to secure his future.
