Ohio State football program loses second receiver to transfer portal
By Ryan Stano
The transfer portal officially opens on Monday. At that point, players can officially commit to another program. Players are already entering the transfer portal so they can be contacted, including a few Ohio State football players. Two Buckeyes already entered the portal as of Wednesday morning.
Another player decided to enter the portal on Wednesday afternoon. The Buckeyes have lost a second receiver to the portal. This time, it's Kojo Antwi. Antwi becomes the third Buckeye to enter the portal since the regular season ended on Saturday afternoon.
Antwi is a junior who hasn't done much at all as a Buckeye. In fact, he has just one catch for eight yards in his career. He was a former four-star recruit back in the 2022 recruiting class. The Buckeyes have had many other receivers jump ahead of him on the depth chart.

The Buckeyes have now lost two receivers to the transfer portal. If there is any position on the field that they can afford to lose a couple of players, it's in the receiver room. They bring in great receivers every single recruiting class, so this is not a bad loss.
As for where Antwi might end up, it's unclear. There's almost no way that he will end up at a Power4 school. It's likely he ends up at a Sun Belt or MAC school. He just doesn't have enough collegiate film to show that he can be a big-time player at this level. Hopefully, he can contribute wherever he ends up.
Antwi won't be the last Buckeye to enter the portal. There will certainly be more as the week rolls on and more might enter next week, too. I fully expect at least double-digit players from this year's team to be in the portal when it's all said and done.
