Ohio State was one of the teams that dominated in Week 3 after crushing Kent State 59-3. They absolutely dominated the Golden Flashes. Former Buckeyes had themselves a great Week 2 in the NFL, as well. Touchdowns just kept happening from almost every former Buckeye.
Week 2 in the NFL showed why so many elite players choose to play for the Ohio State Buckeyes. It's clear that playing in Columbus prepares these players to play at the highest level. That showed up, especially for some of the former Buckeye receivers.
Jaxon Smith-Njigba shows why he's the best receiver in the NFL
No one around the league had a better day when it comes to catching the football than Jaxon Smith-Njigba. He had three touchdowns in a Seahawks victory over the Cardinals. JSN caught nine passes for 155 yards to go along with those three touchdowns.
Smith-Njigba was so good, proving that once again, he is the best receiver in the league. However, he wasn't the only former Ohio State receiver to catch touchdown passes. His former teammate, Chris Olave, was also one of the best weapons that the Saints had in their win over the Ravens.
Olave had six catches for 86 yards and a touchdown. He was the weapon that Tyler Shough kept looking for against a tough Ravens team. As long as he can stay healthy, he is one of the best receivers in the league, not just on the Saints.
TreVeyon Henderson also had a nice game for the New England Patriots. He ended up scoring a 39-yard touchdown against the Steelers in what turned out to be a 20-3 victory. He continues to be a home run threat when he is in the game. Henderson missed Week 1 against the Seahawks because of an injury.
Ohio State players dominate the NFL on a weekly basis
This is not an anomaly for the Buckeyes to see. They have players who crush the NFL every single week on both sides of the ball. This week, it was a lot of the offensive players who happened to be the impact players for their respective teams this week.
Of course, a lot of these same players will likely have the same sort of impact next week. Smith-Njigba is the best receiver in the league, so he will keep having massive games. Perhaps he won't score three touchdowns every game, but he will certainly be someone who can change a game.
The Buckeyes would love to have some of those guys back on the roster. They have struggled to find a second receiver to help out Jeremiah Smith. Smith is the best receiver in the country. Imagine having JSN or Olave on the opposite side of him?
Next season, Smith will become the next player to be an impact guy on an NFL roster. He very well could be a top-five pick, and that talent has shown through in the first few weeks of this season. Now, they just need to get the rest of the offense to play up to snuff.
