This week is a big week for a lot of former Ohio State football players. A lot of the contributors from the 2024 national championship team are performing at the NFL Combine to improve their draft status. They are there to show teams that they deserve to be taken high.
All of the former Ohio State Buckeyes are talking to the media before they are doing drills. They are asked a bunch of questions about their NFL future, as well as the Buckeyes who are still on the team. It has been interesting to listen to these guys talk about the 2025 Ohio State team.
Players like Denzel Burke, Will Howard, and Emeka Egbuka have all talked about the upcoming Buckeye team. All of them had effusive praise for one key Buckeye. All of the Buckeyes at the Combine can't stop talking about how good Julian Sayin is.

Sayin is expected to be the starting quarterback this season. He is a former five-star recruit who has been with the Buckeyes for a year now. He is the leader in the clubhouse to win the jon. Based on what his former teammates are saying about him, it would be surprising if he didn't win the job.

Emeka Egbuka agreed with Denzel Burke that Julian Sayin "is that guy." Said he's never seen that kind of arm talent at such a young age. In terms of being an advanced-level freshman, he put Sayin in the same group as Jeremiah Smith.

All of these guys love what they've seen from Sayin already. These are all guys who were big reasons why the Buckeyes are national champions. It has to make Buckeye fans feel good that they all think Sayin is going to be a really good quarterback.
Of course, Sayin still has to go out and earn it. Just because his former teammates like him doesn't mean that he automatically gets the job. Ryan Day is going to have an open competition, so all three top quarterbacks are going to have a shot to win the job.
Sayin was a five-star recruit for a reason. It's time for him to show everyone what he is capable of, starting with whatever version of the Spring Game we will get in a couple of months.
