The Ohio State football team has opened up Fall camp as they try to keep the team playing at the national championship level they played at last season. They are defending a national title for the first time since 2014. Day one of camp was not great for the Buckeyes.

Eddrick Houston ended up hurting himself badly enough to be carried off the field, and he didn't return. The injury could not have come to a position group worse than the defensive line, where the Ohio State Buckeyes are replacing the entire starting lineup from last year.

The practice footage of the injury made it look like the injury wasn't too bad, and that ended up being the case. ESPN's Pete Thamel reported that the injury is not a long-term issue, and that was correct, as Houston was on the field off to the side, participating in individual work.

Even though Houston didn't do work with the rest of the team, just seeing him in pads on the field should make fans feel a lot better about the injury. The fact that he was able to be out there and get a little bit of work in is a good sign for his availability for Week 1 against Texas.

Houston is slotted to be one of the starters on the defensive line, as he will move inside and be the defensive tackle. He played a lot of football last season as a freshman, so the coaching staff trusts him to get more snaps and play more in big games.

This is still an injury to monitor. It would be nice to see him participate in 11-on-11 drills at some point in the next couple of weeks to make sure that his leg is fully stable. He was seen wearing a knee brace, so that must be where the injury is.
