The Ohio State football team started Fall camp on Thursday as they look to defend their national championship. They lost all four starters on the defensive line from last year, so they are incredibly thin up front, which could be a problem for them early in the year against Texas.

Simply put, the Ohio State Buckeyes can't afford any injuries up front, especially to any of their starters. Unfortunately, they had one of their guys go down on the first day of practice. Eddrick Houston, who is slated to start at defensive tackle, went down with a lower leg injury.

Houston had to be carried off the field and did not come back. Fans are worried that it could be a serious injury, which would be the worst-case scenario. However, some footage of the injury has surfaced, and it looks like he may have avoided serious injury.

Based on the practice footage, Houston looks like he may have just sprained his ankle after stepping on someone else's foot. Take a look at the injury below.

As of right now, there is no official update from Ryan Day on the injury. He likely won't give an indication of the severity of the injury until Friday at the earliest. He usually keeps injury news in-house, so he might not even comment on what the injury exactly is.

If this is just a minor ankle sprain, the Buckeyes have caught a huge break. They desperately need Houston, with how thin the defensive line is already. Having him healthy and ready to go for Week 1 needs to be a priority. There's a good chance that he sits out some practices in order to fully heal the ankle.

I'm certainly not a doctor, so I have no idea what the injury actually is. I, like every other Ohio State football fan, am hoping that Houston just sprained his ankle and that he will be good to go in a few weeks. There also better not be any more injuries suffered this early into camp.
