There have been a few former Ohio State football players who have decided to enter the transfer portal already. Only one so far has decided on another program. That is Jayden Ballard, a former Buckeye receiver. Ballard has decided to commit to another Big Ten program.

Meanwhile, other Buckeye players are getting ready to start taking visits to programs. More players have entered the transfer portal than have committed to the Buckeyes from the portal. In fact, the Ohio State Buckeyes have landed just one player from the portal so far this year.

Air Noland is one of the players who have decided to enter the transfer portal. Noland was just a freshman quarterback this past season. He must not have thought that he was going to get a chance to start next year. He is now taking a visit to an SEC school.

According to ON3's Pete Nakos, Noland will be taking a visit to South Carolina. He is from the south, so that makes sense. There was speculation that he might try to go to school somewhere in Georgia, which is his home state. South Carolina obviously very close as well.

We didn't get to see a lot of Noland in an Ohio State uniform. He was the MVP of the Spring Game, though. I thought he was the best quarterback in that game. Heading into next year, I thought he had a real shot to win the starting job over both Julian Sayin and Tavien St.Clair.

Obviously, I was wrong. Noland will now go elsewhere. Buckeye fans would prefer if he didn't play for a Big Ten school, so visiting South Carolina is fine. We'll see if that's where he ultimately ends up, or if he chooses somewhere else to continue his collegiate career.
