Being committed and being signed are two totally different things. While Bralan Womack is currently committed to Auburn, there is a strong possibility that he may back out of it before signing day. Christian Clemente shared Womack's thoughts on watching Auburn fall to the wayside of late. The five-star recruit from Fleetwood, Mississippi has been beside himself over Auburn's lack of offense.

According to the 247Sports Composite, Womack is the No. 1 safety in his class, the No. 2 overall prospect from Mississippi and the No. 14 overall player in the 2026 recruting cycle. He committed to Auburn back in August, but his commitment seems to be on the fence of late. He had 34 official offers, including one from Ohio State. The Buckeyes were one of the four schools Womack visited.

You can sense the frustration emanating out of him watching Auburn struggle to produce any points.

"You've got to score 20 or more points to compete. And we've done that zero times in SEC play. It doesn't look like it's going to change. Nothing's changing."

The fact he is a defensive player makes this even more concerning because this offense is so bad.

With how well the Buckeyes defense has looked under Matt Patricia, Ohio State has a real shot here.

Ohio State has a great chance to flip Bralan Womack away from Auburn

One of the reasons why Ohio State is arguably the best college football program in the country is the Buckeyes' ability to recruit nationally. Even though they are situated in the heart of the Big Ten, Ohio State has never been afraid to go into other parts of the country to get top-flight talent. It is a program rich in tradition, one that is never bad. It is why it can land players hailing from the southeast.

It should be noted that the two other teams that were able to get visits from Womack are in the SEC in Florida and Texas A&M. While Florida continues to be week-by-week with Billy Napier at head coach, Mike Elko has that thing humming in College Station. Since Womack would be out-of-state if he ended up at any of those programs, that continues to play in the favor of Ohio State flipping him.

At the end of the day, Ohio State already has the best safety in college football in Caleb Downs. The Buckeyes were able to get him to transfer away from Alabama in the wake of Nick Saban retiring. He nearly committed to his home state's Georgia Bulldogs, but Downs appears to have chosen wisely. He played a huge part in Ohio State winning its most recent national title. Is Womack aware of this?

For now, Womack remains committed to Auburn, but it seems as though he could be poached soon.
