Hey, long snappers need some love too and that's exactly what's happening right now with Grant Mills. Previously at North Carolina, Mills decided to enter the transfer portal this spring and suit up for a different program.
This has become great news for Ohio State football and head coach Ryan Day. On Thursday, Mills revealed that he's packing his bags and making the move from Chapel Hill to Columbus. That's right, the long snapper has committed to the Buckeyes and he's ready to make an impact for Ohio State's special teams in 2025:

Long snapper Grant Mills has committed to the Ohio State football team
Mills just joined UNC ahead of the 2024 campaign, redshirting his first year on campus. He never appeared in a game for the Tar Heels. He'll now arrive in Columbus looking to take over the backup long snapper duties. Heading into the new campaign, John Ferlmann is expected to be the starter.
He indeed becomes the second UNC player to join Ohio State this offseason, joining pass-rusher Beau Atkinson. Atkinson committing to Ohio State is considered one of the biggest portal wins this cycle, as Day made the edge-rusher a priority.
In the end, it was a battle between Georgia and Ohio State for his services, but a head-turning visit paved the way for Atkinson to realize he wanted to play for the Buckeyes. It was bad news for Kirby Smart, but obviously great for Day and his staff.
Last season, the Buckeyes silenced the haters everywhere by winning the natty, something countless people are still celebrating. The hard work to repeat has already begun, with Day adding some impressive players via the transfer portal. No, long snappers aren't always going to get the most attention, but the addition of Mills is something OSU supporters shouldn't sleep on either.
