With things being a dumpster fire for Wisconsin and Luke Fickell, might Ohio State football look to take advantage of things? That could end up being the case on the recruiting trail, as Ryan Day is making a move on an elite Wisconsin running back commit.
First-round pick details how Ohio State football screwed up his recruitment
Per recruiting guru Steve Wiltfong, elite prospect Amari Latimer is in Columbus this weekend for a visit. This news broke just a few hours before the Buckeyes take the field at home against Minnesota. It also comes after Wisconsin suffered a rough loss on the road to Michigan.

4-star Wisconsin commit Amari Latimer is currently at Ohio State for a visit
Fickell is getting called out left and right for 'giving up' on his team, as he didn't use any of his timeouts late in the action. His seat is on fire right now, with the Wisconsin faithful essentially begging for him to get fired as soon as possible.
That's nothing for Ohio State, the reigning national champs, to worry about. Day has been in pursuit of Latimer for a little while, leading to getting him on campus this weekend. A Tyrone, Ga. product, Latimer has been committed to Wisconsin since June 28.
However, several schools haven't stopped reaching out to him, with the Buckeyes obviously on the list. According to the 247Sports composite, the 6-1, 220-pounder is ranked four stars and the No. 24 running back in the country for the 2026 class. He's also picked up 47 total offers throughout his recruitment.
With him on an official visit with Ohio State, Day is certainly going to roll out the red carpet for him and the other recruits in town. Could a commitment or two be on the way for the Buckeyes in the coming days? That's what Day and his staff are hoping for. At running back, 4-star Favour Akih is already on board for '26, but might Latimer decide to join him next year with Ohio State too? That's a possibility, which would make things even worse for Fickell and Wisconsin.
