The Ohio State football program has been known for years as the premier college football program when it comes to developing and recruiting wide receivers. With Brian Hartline as the receivers coach, they seemed to bring in a five-star recruit almost every single year.
Hartline is no longer with the program. He is now the head coach for USF, and current Buckeye receivers have decided to leave. In fact, the Buckeyes have now lost five receivers in the Transfer Portal since they lost to Miami in the Cotton Bowl.
The best way for Ryan Day to replenish those losses is to bring more talent in. The Ohio State Buckeyes are set to host a five-star recruit from the 2027 class this weekend in their continued pursuit to bring him to Columbus, even without Hartline involved in the program.
Monshun Sales to visit the Ohio State football program this weekend
According to Rivals, the Buckeyes are getting ready to host five-star receiver Moshun Sales. Sales is the second-best receiver recruit in the country for 2027. Sales attends Lawrence North High School in Indianapolis and is listed at 6'5 and 195 pounds. He's a big target running down the field.
Sales is someone who is wanted by programs all across the country. Adding him would certainly help the Buckeyes recover some of the talent that they have lost in the last week. Sales is someone who has range and can catch contested balls easily because of his size.
This is Cortez Hankton's first real challenge as the new wide receivers coach for the Buckeyes. He has to convince Sales that the program will still be able to develop receivers at the same rate that they did with Hartline in charge of the receivers. Doing that with no offensive coordinator hired is going to be tough.
It's unlikely that Sales will commit this weekend. This is just the first of a few visits that Ohio State would like to have with Sales. He is someone who they are making a priority heading into next season.
