The Ohio State football program lost its last two games of the 2025 season after starting out 12-0. It was a tough way to finish up the season, and it left a sour taste in their mouth. The Buckeyes were trying to be the first team to win back-to-back national titles since Georgia in 2021-22.
Instead, the Ohio State Buckeyes lost to Indiana and Miami in consecutive games. Those two teams faced each other for the national championship. IU ended up winning the game, and they are now the new kings of the Big Ten. That's something Ohio State will have to take from them.
Despite the fact that most of the Big Ten schedule has yet to be revealed, the Buckeyes now know when they will be taking on the Hoosiers. The Big Ten Conference revealed that the Hoosiers will host the Buckeyes on October 17th in what will be a Big Ten Championship rematch.

This game will be a massive game, as Indiana will still be very good next season. Even though they replace a lot of offensive talent, the Hoosiers reloaded in the Transfer Portal. Ohio State should arguably be better offensively next season than they were this season, too.
Next season, the Buckeyes have a brutal schedule. They will play at Texas, Indiana, Iowa, and USC. They also have to take on Oregon and Michigan, but they get both of those teams at home. This is a much tougher schedule than the Buckeyes faced in 2025.
After Ohio State finished well in the portal, they should have another talented team that should make the College Football Playoff next season. Whether or not they will fix the problems in the trenches so they can compete for a national championship remains to be seen.
Ohio State will certainly be battle-tested next year.
