You'd think Ryan Day would be ready for a vacation, but he knows that recruiting never sleeps. This past weekend, Ohio State brought in multiple talented prospects for visits and the list included 5-star offensive lineman Maxwell Hiller.

A 6-5, 300-pounder from Pennsylvania, Hiller indeed made the trip to Columbus this past weekend and it looks like his time on campus could not have gone much better. While there has been recent buzz that South Carolina and Florida are teams standing out, you better believe Day and the Buckeyes are going to do what it takes to potentially land his commitment down the road:

5-star OL Maxwell Hiller visiting Ohio State was big for head coach Ryan Day

Thus far, Hiller has only taken an official visit to South Carolina, but that's obviously going to change in the near future. According to the 247Sports Composite, the big-bodied lineman is ranked five stars, the No. 1 interior offensive lineman in the country and No. 2 player from Pennsylvania.

He's also the No. 10 prospect overall for the 2027 class. Thus far, Hiller has 31 offers to his name, which speaks to how popular of a target he is this cycle. With it only being February, there's still plenty of time for him to think about his future before shutting things down and making a decision.

Obviously, it's great news for Ohio State that it managed to get him on campus for a winter visit - Day will hope to get him back for an official visit sooner rather than later too. Thus far for the '27 haul, the Buckeyes hold nine verbal pledges.

The group is headlined by 5-star commits Jamier Brown and DJ Jacobs. Soon enough, spring ball will get here and Day is going to want to see his list of commitments reach double digits. It's way too early to tell if Hiller is going to end up playing in the Big Ten, but making the touted hoss a top priority is a no-brainer for Day and his staff.
