The Ohio State football team is taking on the Texas Longhorns in the Cotton Bowl on Friday night. It's a game that the Buckeyes feel very confident that they can win, coming off of blowout wins against Tennessee and Oregon. They have been the best team in college football.
We have known that the Buckeyes were going to possibly play in the Cotton Bowl for a while now. Once the College Football Playoff bracket was released, we saw that this was the path for the Ohio State Buckeyes to get to the National Championship Game.
Well, almost everyone saw that path. There may have been a few Buckeye fans that misread the bracket and screwed up. In fact, a reporter for Penn State has alerted fans on social media that some Buckeyes accidentally ended up at the Orange Bowl instead.
Ohio State football fans end up at the wrong CFP game
Take a look at the tweet below from a Penn State reporter who is on-site for the game on Thursday night.
He goes on to say that it looked like they were students. It's unclear how they were able to misread the bracket or why they didn't just sell the ticket and try to get tickets to the Cotton Bowl instead, but they will be at the Orange Bowl instead. It's a pretty big mistake.
It's hard for me to believe that someone was able to misread a bracket this badly and buy tickets to a game that is happening in a completely different state. If the Buckeyes end up winning in the Cotton Bowl, this could end up being a funny story to tell for years to come.
On the bright side, these fans are at least getting a scouting report on the potential opponent for Ohio State if they end up beating Texas.
