Ohio State football coach looks scared for his job

After almost losing to Nebraska, Ryan Day looks like he's scared of losing his job as the coach of the Ohio State football team.

The Ohio State football team had to survive a scare from a bad Nebraska team on Saturday afternoon. The Buckeyes won the game 21-17 after getting a game-sealing interception on the game's final drive. It's not exactly how the Buckeyes thought the game would go.

Ryan Day talked heading into this game as if he had his team prepared. The Ohio State Buckeyes were coming off a bye week. The week before that, they suffered their only loss of the year. You would have thought that this team would have come out angry and wanting to dominate.

That didn't happen. Instead, Day looks like he can't get through to his team. He looks like a man who is scared of losing his job. The players are not translating whatever they're doing in practice into the games. Even after a win, Ohio State football fans want Day gone.

After the game, Day said that the offensive line is nowhere near good enough right now. The inability to run the football against the Cornhuskers was extremely concerning. Only getting 2.1 yards per carry is not good enough, no matter who the opponent is.

Fans are not happy with the product on the field. After the Buckeyes spent almost $20 million on the roster in NIL money, fans want more. A lot of NIL fund money comes from the fans. They want a coach who can actually get the most out of the talent that is on the roster.

If the Buckeyes lose to Penn State next week, things could get very ugly for Day. Fans will be foaming at the mouth, calling for his firing. A loss to Penn State wouldn't sink their CFP chances, but it would sink their shot at winning the Big Ten. It's the pattern of how things are run that is making fans so mad.

Personally, I think the Buckeyes would benefit from moving on from Day after the season. I don't think they are well enough coached to win a national championship. They need to get a coach who can get the most out of the five-star recruits that they bring in every year.
